Clerkship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

This selective program allows undergraduate dental students from across the country the opportunity to live the life of a junior Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident. It is offered at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the OMFS Program and its affiliated teaching hospitals.
The OMFS Clerkship will be available for 2 students at one time to spend 2 weeks rotating through: Mount Sinai Hospital, Sunnybrook Hospital, Humber River Hospital. Successful candidates will attend the operating rooms, assist in surgery and participate in clinics and rounds. Didactic work and preparation will be expected for daily rounds, seminars or presentations.
There will only be 5 eligible rotations in 2020: June 15-26, July 13-24, July 27 to August 7, August 10-24, August 24 to September 4.
If you are a DDS student at any ADA/CDA recognized program, you are eligible. Candidates in their 2nd or 3rd year of a DDS programs are encouraged to apply and we want to strongly encourage the application of women to participate. Deadline for application is March 1, 2020. Successful candidates will be contacted before April 1, 2020.
Two letters of recommendation will be required showing evidence of a desire for OMFS studies and the capacity to participate in a strenuous and challenging environment. Candidates are asked to request their preferred rotation time and we will attempt to best accommodate this.

Administrative cost: $400 ($200 for current U of T DDS students)
