The Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering (IBBME) is a unique interdisciplinary and collaborative research unit situated between three partner Faculties at the University of Toronto: Applied Science & Engineering, Dentistry and Medicine. The Institute pursues research in four theme areas: neural, sensory systems and rehabilitation engineering; biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; molecular imaging and biomedical nanotechnology; and medical devices and clinical technologies.
The Institute currently awards graduate students degrees through its Biomedical Engineering concentration (MASc, PhD Biomedical Engineering, PhD Biomedical Engineering - Clinical Engineering Concentration) and its Clinical Engineering MHSc program. Undergraduate courses are also offered through the Division of Engineering Science as part of its Biomedical Systems Engineering Option.
