Students gain exposure to key partners

Every year more than 400 of the Faculty’s students, both graduate and undergraduate, attend Student Vendor Fairs that are put on by the Alumni Office.  “We do this to help the students make important connections with partners and vendors they may need after they graduate in a fun and social environment.” says Selina Esteves, head of Alumni at the Faculty. 

On November 4th the DDS 3, DDS 4 and graduate students wove their way through the Faculty’s auditorium to gather information, make connections and ask questions to 20 partners who contribute sponsorships that helps fund DSS activities. 

Partners like Sinclair Dental, Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, Sunstar and P&G Crest Oral-B were there with toothbrushes, toothpaste, flossers and other treats as well as materials and product companies like Dentsply Sirona, NSK America Corp and HANSAmed Ltd participate to show their wares.  Accounting firms like John Yang Accounting, wealth managers and insurance providers like CDSPI, Peak Financial, M&Co, Torch Financial as well as dentalcorp and 123dentist are there too to answer questions and share information (see full listing of all sponsors below).

“It’s my favorite event every year. I love it”. Says DDS4 student Michael Martico.  “It really came together for me this year as I think about graduation and I had some really great conversations that I’ll follow up.”  

“Providing students with an opportunity to come together with their friends, get some terrific product information from a variety of vendors who could be a support to them in the future is very important. Plus, from the Alumni perspective, we want to build our relationship with the students before they graduate and it’s a pleasure to put programming together that not only supports their growth but enhances their journey through dental school”, says Esteves.
