Shipping and Receiving at Dentistry

Building Services

The shipping and receiving dock is located on the West side of 101 Elm Street (not 124 Edward Street) and can only be accessed from Elm Street. The entrance is shared with a parking garage and is heavily used, so there may be some wait times.

Shipping and Receiving Hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, and closed on holidays. All deliveries must be brought to this location.

Some of our delivery requirements include:

  • For larger deliveries, provide at least 2 days notice and times for arrival and duration of delivery
  • Maximum size is 28-foot box truck
  • Shipment crates and pallets cannot exceed 42” width or 72” height, with no overhang on pallets
  • All delivery vehicles must be removed from our receiving area immediately after drop-off. Please arrange off-site parking if needed.

Building Services Parking

The Dentistry Stockroom team, located in room 18A (basement level), manages Shipping, Receiving & Stores. The main services include:

  • Managing inventory for the Faculty of Dentistry
  • Receiving deliveries and verifying that orders are complete and in good condition. If goods are damaged, informing the supplier and the receiver
  • Arranging returns due to errors or damage
  • Confirming receipt of goods with Finance to support the processing of invoices
  • Storage of medical gases and waste products for the faculty
  • Receiving all other deliveries including laundry, mail, lab equipment, construction items, PPE, cleaning supplies, dental supplies, etc.

The stockroom typically carries a wide selection of clinical products, including PPE, equipment, laundry services, and more.

In addition, the Stockroom team is the delivery agent for the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) facility within the building and uses a van for clients in the downtown area.

Stockroom FAQs:

  • All goods need a Dentistry Purchase Order. When there is no Purchase Order, items will be in limbo until the team has time to reach out to the many departments of the building
  • Most items are opened to verify contents match the shipping information. However, items for Research and Oral Pathology are never opened.
  • We do refrigerate packages where it is noted
