Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Periodontist to join our busy long-standing Prosthodontic specialty practice (1 day/week). As a Periodontist, you will specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal diseases and conditions. You will work closely with our team of dental professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Duties:
Perform surgical procedures such as dental implant placement, gingival/connective tissue grafting, bone grafting, sinus lifts, and scaling and root planning.
Perform comprehensive periodontal examinations and assessments
Diagnose and treat various periodontal diseases and conditions
Develop personalized treatment plans for patients
Administer oral sedation as necessary (hold a valid certification to do so)
Collaborate with other specialists at the practice to ensure comprehensive patient care
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic/digital dental software
Qualifications:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
Completion of an accredited Canadian or US periodontics specialty program (typically a 3-year program)
Current Ontario dental license in good standing
Board certification in Periodontics
Proficiency in medical terminology related to periodontics
Familiarity with reading/interpreting dental CBCTs and valid Ontario certification in dental CBCTs.
